St. Paul’s pre-school is part of St. Paul’s parish  and is a charitable organisation which is led by a committee of parents and staff.

Our Ethos

At St. Paul’s pre-school our Christian beliefs are the foundation of our ethos. We are fully committed to an inclusive provision and practice.

We aim to provide a nurturing environment for 3-4 year olds. Our provision is informed by children’s interests and curiosity. It builds upon their previous experiences and learning within the family.

We believe children are enthusiastic and receptive learners who need time, space and security to experience things at first hand – through play.

We aim to provide a wide range of play experiences which will include:

  • Natural elements – such as sand and water
  • Handling all kind of materials – such as: corn flour, play dough, …
  • Various types of paintings – messy play!
  • Small world, floor toys, bricks, modelling …
  • Cookery
  • Outdoor play, investigating nature
  • Imaginative role play

Lottery FundedWe were most fortunate in July 2010 to receive a grant of £4,500 from the Big Lottery Fund, under their Awards For  All scheme. This enabled us to purchase some ICT equipment, which was a fantastic opportunity for our children. With this additional equipment, our children develop confidence to explore and learn in a secure and safe, yet challenging, environment and gain  expertise in using age appropriate technology and multimedia tools. All the staff at the pre-school are very grateful to the Lottery for having accepted our application.

We were fortunate to receive a grant of £500 from Haywards Heath Town Council in April 2014 towards the cost of buying a laptop and software for the pre-school.  The pre-school is very grateful for their interest and support.
